World Rowing Indoor Championships

This year sees the launch of an exciting new partnership with World Rowing. The World Rowing Indoor Championships is a new event with official world championship status. The plan is for the race to change venue each year, showcasing a truly international sport and bringing the best athletes from all corners of the globe.

The first World Rowing Indoor Championships will take place at the Erg Sprints in Alexandria, Virginia, United States on February 17-18, 2018. The Erg Sprints is a two-day event with Junior events on Saturday and most other events on Sunday, including para-rowing races. The distance for all WRIC events is 2000 metres (with additional 1000 metre races for para-rowing categories). The Erg Sprints will have extra race distances, including 500m and team races. Athletes are welcome to race in more than one event. Visit ergsprints.com for details and to register.

The World Rowing Indoor Championships is open to anyone who wants to compete, with no qualification necessary. Athletes who meet certain time standards at official satellite regattas can earn free airfare to WRIC.

Note: The CRASH-B Sprints will still take place. This year's CRASH-B Sprints is on February 25, 2018 at the Agganis Arena in Boston. For more information, and for past results from the CRASH-Bs, go to crash-b.org.
