About this course
The Level 1 Indoor Rowing Instructor Course introduces fitness instructors and personal trainers to the excitement and energy of indoor rowing. Participants will learn correct rowing technique, the physiological benefits of rowing and the effective use of the Concept2 Indoor Rower.
Through the Level 1 Indoor Rowing Accreditation Course, ERGfit offers an education program that we believe will give you, the trainer, the necessary information and tools to provide your clients with an exciting and complete indoor rowing experience. It will also assist fitness professionals with how to structure and execute an indoor rowing class with emphasis on safety, enjoyment and maximum benefit for participants. Our team of rowing enthusiasts, fitness leaders and professional educators have worked together to create an educational program that will prepare you to teach and coach effective, rewarding indoor rowing lessons and group classes.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to demonstrate full competency in the following areas:

Explain the physical and psychological benefits that rowing has to offer

Identify all parts of the Concept2 (C2) rowing machine

Demonstrate safe handling and storage of the C2 machine

Show correct machine set up including damper settings and foot stretcher heights

Display knowledge for all of the Performance Monitor’s functions

Display knowledge of correct rowing terminology, stroke phases and positions

Display correct rowing technique and indentify/correct technique faults
-
Display and understand rhythm and intensity

Show knowledge of rowing drills for technique improvements

Design rowing programs for specific goals and needs

Design rowing programs for group classes

Display instructor qualities including cueing calls during group classes
