I’ve had a Model C Indoor Rower since 2003 and have logged 6.3M metres. Some of those early years saw spotty usage due to back problems (hint: don’t over-stretch!) I’ve been much more consistent the last several years, gradually losing weight. However, last year I received the dreaded “metabolic syndrome” diagnosis. You can’t just row past a bad diet. I went Paleo in mid-February: Since then my A1C quickly went back to normal and I dropped 25 lbs. There are limits, and it takes time to adapt, but I think a low carb diet works well with rowing.
