As spring comes to the northern hemisphere, indoor exercise loses some of its appeal as we long for more time outdoors. Up here in northern Vermont, we know we still have a couple months before it’s really spring—but we feel the same transition coming. We’ll ski until the snow is gone, but we’ll also start running and riding our bikes on good days—and we’ll jump on the RowErg, SkiErg or BikeErg when the weather is just nasty. What’s the best way to balance indoor and outdoor exercise so that you can take advantage of the weather? Continue Reading ›

I often follow a personal slogan of “any metres are better than no metres.” With two kids at home and working full time, it can be hard to motivate. Here are a few workouts that help me get moving on the RowErg, SkiErg or BikeErg. (Some days, once I start, I am motivated to do even more!) Continue Reading ›

Mar 27, 2020

When rowing seasons were cut short, we heard from coaches, student athletes and parents alike that continuing training as a team was of the utmost importance. Introducing the 2020 Spring VIII Series—a new virtual team challenge that allows athletes to compete as a crew of eight from the comfort of their own homes. We're hoping this challenge helps athletes to connect to their teams and coaches in an uncertain time.

While this challenge may not replace the thrill of on water racing, it does require similar teamwork to complete. So (virtually) grab teammates or club members and start a team! The series runs for five weeks starting April 6. Continue Reading ›
