Thanks for a Successful Holiday Challenge!

Jan 13, 2014

This year, over 2300 people completed the Holiday Challenge, which took place during the busy holiday period between American Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

The Holiday Challenge is about more than just working out and staying fit through the holidays. Metres rowed and skied translate into contributions towards select charities, thanks to a donation from Concept2. This year, participants in the challenge helped raise over $25,000.00 for four great causes. Commemorative pins for all 200k participants will be mailed out in the in the next two weeks to those who included a mailing address in their Online Logbook profiles.

Here are the contributions for each charity this year:

  • International Rescue: $11,227.79
  • Challenged Athletes: $7076.63
  • Right To Play: $4,004.74
  • Dirt Divas: $2701.80

Thanks to everyone who participated!

There's still time to join the Virtual Team Challenge, which is going on now. In the Virtual Team Challenge, each team completes as many metres as they can collectively between January 1 and January 31. There are some very competitive rowers and skiers out there already racking up those metres! The deadline for joining the challenge is January 15, so it’s not too late to find a team and join the fun. Learn more
